Mission Statement and Action Plan 2018/19

‘Alive in Christ’s love and His love never fails’

We seek always to live out Gods purpose and mission to this community
through worship, witness, and service.

We will be a place of welcome to all at all times.
We will not just be “church” on a Sunday.

We will “so maintain the Church’s life of worship and service that we [and others] will grow in grace and in the knowledge and love of God and of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord”.

We will seek to be as Christ to the very young through the generations
to the more mature.

We will be a place of learning, prayer and discernment
and promote a life-long journey of development in faith.

We will value the past, rejoice in the present and embrace the new.

We will care for the community and the environment
and be good stewards of the earth’s resources.

We will be flexible in our actions and thinking
and grasp opportunities to serve and witness.

We will work whenever possible with others of great faith or none.

We will be holy risk takers.

We believe that, if done in God’s Spirit, all things are possible.

  • Explore Christian spirituality: Variety of opportunities for worship and prayer.
  • Grow in faith: Knowledge of scripture and small steps of faith
  • Develop as disciples through service and witness: ‘Chaplaincy for All’ model.
  • Make more followers of The Lord Jesus Christ

  • Buildings fit for purpose: Worship and community space that meet current and emerging outreach/evangelism opportunities.

Key Values Underpinning our Plan and Actions

Be an inclusive church offering an equal welcome to all regardless of gender, ethnicity, age, ability, or sexuality.

We are committed to fulfilling quickly the agreed new designs for the chapel space.

We nurture one another. ‘Extenuate the positive’.

We will create a ‘buzz’ to develop ‘new volunteering.
Understand the power of positive praise.

We will focus on creating opportunities for discipleship.
These, initially, may need to be small and short-term.

We will avoid duplication and competition.
Only seek to develop services for currently un-met needs.

We ‘start small’ and give space to things to grow.

We will identify and work with those who are our potential partners
(people of peace).

Be eco-friendly in our thoughts and actions

Promote Fair Trade produce and be a fairly-traded certificate holder.

To use local produce whenever possible.
